Rowallan Camp is a picturesque camp site nestled beneath a massive granite whaleback rock, just 2km inside the Matopos Road Park entrance. With quick access from Bulawayo Rowallan is the perfect escape for local and international guests alike, offering sanctuary in beautiful bush surrounds, just a short way from Bulawayo. A new semi-permanent tented camp is due for completion in early 2015, but until that time Rowallan operates as a luxury mobile tented camp comprised of East-African A-frame tents, each with en-suite bathroom (hot water bucket showers and flush or drop toilets). The camp operates without electricity and offers ambient paraffin and solar LED lighting. In future, once the luxury tented camp is open, the mobile camp will continue to operate at an adjacent, independent site at Rowallan.
Rowallan Camp is situated just 2km inside Matopos National Park with access 34 Kilometres South of Bulawayo along the Matopos Road. 100m beyond the boom gate the road forks left towards World’s View. The entrance to Rowallan Camp is sign posted 2km along this road. There is a short dirt road approach to camp.
In addition to the stunning scenic surrounds, Matopos offers a variety of historical, cultural, sport and leisure activities to entertain guests. For guests on All-Inclusive board basis, activities are included and guests on any other board basis are welcome to pre-arrange these as paid activities.
